El Paso Rattler Outdoor Challenge

El Paso Rattler Outdoor Challenge

With such resourceful assets to our border region such as cycling trails, Pecan Orchards, and the Rio Grande, there is every reason to showcase them to tourists, students, and residents. Imagine attending an adventure weekend at the river where you can go cycling, get off your bike, take a break, and canoe along the Rio Grande.

Senator Shapleigh's Office has teamed up with Texas Parks and Wildlife and the El Paso Marathon Foundation to host the 1st Annual El Paso Rattler Outdoor Challenge.

About the Event

The purpose of the event is to promote eco-tourism in the border region by highlighting the areas' rich assets. This event captures the essence of the El Paso Marathon Foundation's mission, which is to promote health and fitness in the community, bring tourism to the region of El Paso, and provide support to local and national non-profit organizations.

This is the first event to bring the running, hiking, cycling and rowing communities together. We hope this event will heavily publicize the excellent trails El Paso has to offer. Our governmental partners are the offices of Texas House Rep. Joe Moody, County Commissioner Veronica Escobar, Ft. Bliss and the El Paso Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
